SYNOPSIS:
A weak Atlantic high-pressure system will maintain mostly light winds and a relatively stable atmosphere across the region. Further, varying concentrations of Saharan dust will affect air quality and visibility. Persons with allergies and/or respiratory illnesses should be vigilant.
Slight to moderate seas are predicted to peak at 5 feet during the next few days.
STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet
SPECIAL FEATURES: Shower and thunderstorm activities associated with an area of low pressure located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles, have change little this morning. However, this system still has a high chance (80%) of formation and a tropical depression is likely to form within the next couple of days.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system and update the public accordingly.
