SINT MAARTEN (ST. PETERS) - Today August 7, 2026, at approximately 10:40 a.m., KPSM Central Dispatch received a report of a shooting incident in the St. Peters area.
For reasons that are currently unknown, a male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.
Ambulance personnel provided medical treatment to the victim at the scene before he was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for further medical treatment.
Detectives and forensic personnel responded to the scene and conducted an investigation, including the collection of evidence relevant to the case.
KPSM is appealing to members of the public who were in the vicinity at the time of the shooting and may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation to come forward.
