PHILIPSBURG--A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Lucky Cosmetics, Oranje School and Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise on August 30 to continue the breakfast programme at the school for the 2022-2023 school year.
Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise has been partnering with companies in the community for 10 years to provide breakfast programmes in elementary and secondary schools on the island. Club President Marcellia Henry said the club is committed to executing and maintaining the breakfast programme. The purpose of the programme is to assist schools in promoting healthy nutritional habits and increasing the pupils’/students’ academic performance.
The club is elated that Lucky Cosmetics has agreed to co-sponsor the programme at Oranje School for the second time. Lucky Cosmetics, represented by its director Prakash Menghani, expressed how happy it is to sponsor a programme that allows children to receive a healthy nutritious meal to start their school day. The company sees the importance of helping children to do their best at school and Menghani is therefore happy to assist with making this possible for many children at the school.
Oranje School Manager Jacklene Joedoleksono-Gumbs thanked both Lucky Cosmetics and Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise for sponsoring the breakfast programme at the school once again. A total of 49 pupils participate in the breakfast programme daily, which helps them to receive a healthy meal before they go to class.
