This Saturday, November 4 will remain an important day for the youth of Saint-Martin, it marked the official launch of the Art For Science Kids & Youth program and the partnership between Art For Science, the association behind the system, and Mood SXM to raise funds .

The Art For Science Kids & Youth pilot program is intended for around fifty young people between 7 and 16 years old in the Saint-Martin region. Two schools, the Elie Gibs public school in Grand-Case and Happy School, and two associations, Cobraced and Horizon Bosco, will benefit from this new system of 14 immersions at the heart of art and neuroscience. For Mélanie Dal Gobbo, president of Art For Science (AFS), the goal of this educational and innovative program is to allow Saint-Martin children and adolescents to understand that they have a unique, incredible and magical brain: “ that they regain self-confidence, even if a child has difficulty at school, with society, if he feels rejected, if he does not control his anger, this anger can be expressed differently. With AFS Kids & Youth, children will discover through art how to better soothe these emotions; they will explore theater, music, painting, choir, circus, sculpture, dance and even cinema through the program. ". The launch of the program in the 4 structures will take place this week. As a preamble, an event was held last Saturday at the Mood SXM in Grand-Case with AFS which presented the program to the general public and the association's mission: to defend the benefits of art on the brain. Céline and Schmitt, founders of Mood, have chosen to collaborate with AFS from November 4 until Saturday March 2, 2024, by donating one euro (or more depending on the generosity of customers) from each order placed in their restaurant in the AFS Kids & Youth program. With the desire to support the youth of Saint-Martin and local actions, Céline and Schmitt intend to give as much as they receive in this territory which is dear to them, by helping associations which defend the values of well-being and healthy eating. for the brain and health. The meeting between AFS and Mood SXM was therefore natural. A well-known artist from Saint-Martin was also present last Saturday, the photographer Agnès Etchegoyen. One of his works was exhibited to the public, so that they could react point blank to this black and white photograph of a dressed woman submerged underwater, her head at surface level creating reflections multiplying the effects of the brain . Each of the testimonies motivated by rational intelligence offered its own interpretation, proving during this express demonstration that each brain is unique when confronted with art. Exciting. _VX
