The Caribbean Palm building in which Parliament sits is getting spruced up. Painters were busy at work on Sunday. The 2018-2019 parliamentary year will open with a uniformed personnel parade on Tuesday making the building the centre of activities.

In stark contrast to the freshly painted and repaired Caribbean Palm building, the historical Courthouse, one of the oldest buildings on the island, remains scarred by Hurricane Irma. Its balcony is missing and several windows are still boarded up. The Courthouse is still used for criminal and civil cases, but its once picture-perfect façade now looks like a broken tooth.
