There are three patients at SMMC
PHILIPSBURG--Fifteen persons tested positive for COVID-19 and two persons on Tuesday, May 18. The country’s number of active cases is now 49.
The total number of confirmed cases stands at 2,307.
Collective Prevention Services (CPS) is monitoring 46 persons who are in home isolation. There are three patients hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC).
The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains 27.
The number of persons recovered since the first case surfaced on St. Maarten has increased to 2,231. There are 45 persons in quarantine based on contact tracing investigations carried out by CPS.
The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor VSA Airport Health Team in collaboration with Health Care Laboratory St. Maarten (HCLS) have tested 2,882 travellers arriving at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) and CPS has tested 28,642 persons throughout the community.
CPS assures that as the numbers continue to fluctuate, the department will continue to actively execute its contact tracing measures.
Minister of VSA Omar Ottley encourages persons who are not yet vaccinated to come out and do so. “If there are questions or concerns, engage in dialogue with your doctor. If you do not have a doctor and have questions, visit one of the vaccination administration locations at CPS or Belair for assistance.”
