Police patrols, detectives and Traffic Department personnel were dispatched to the scene, where officers found the man lying on the side of the road with severe upper-body injuries and showing no signs of life.

Preliminary information indicates that the man had been travelling on his scooter from the direction of the Prince Bernhard Bridge when he was reportedly struck by a small grey vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. Police said initial information further suggests that a third, unidentified vehicle subsequently ran over the victim.

The exact circumstances of the incident, including the sequence of events and the vehicles involved, remain under investigation by the KPSM Traffic Department. KPSM is asking anyone who witnessed the accident or has information about the vehicles involved to contact KPSM at 1721-5422222 or call 911.
