PHILIPSBURG--The Best Dressed Chicken, a Jamaica-based poultry brand of the Jamaica Broilers Group, has expanded its export portfolio to St. Maarten.
Prime Distributors has secured a deal with The Best Dressed Chicken and received its first shipment last month. Le Grand Marche, The Fresh Market, Food Plus, Carrefour Market and other selected supermarkets island-wide will carry The Best Dressed Chicken products such as the whole bird, free range and individually frozen products.
The whole bird is wrapped and vacuum-packed in plastic bags and then frozen in a high-velocity freezer. The free-range birds are hand-fed, on an all-grain diet and allowed constant access to the outdoors with fresh vegetation, sunshine and room to exercise. The individually frozen product is the latest addition, and each chicken part is detached, frozen and remains separated in the packaging, The Best Dressed Chicken Regional Marketing Programmes Manager Avadaugn Sinclair said.
He said The Best Dressed Chicken has had strong visibility in Caribbean territories such as the Cayman Islands and Turks and Caicos and the products are now being brought to consumers in St. Maarten. “Our proximity to the island and its growing Jamaican Diaspora both serve to make this an ideal opportunity for us to grow our brand in this new market,” he said.
“The feedback has been encouraging thus far, the consumers are receptive to the diverse offerings and price points, and we are keen on building brand affinity and bolstering our impact in St. Maarten. More importantly, as customers seek to lead healthy lives, they can rest assured they are buying the best.”
