On this mission the response team was joined by volunteer Dion Matthew and Rohan de Graf, owner of the dog named Ginger.

Ginger was last seen on the cliffside along the Whitewall shoreline. With the use of rope rescue material, the skilled team of professionals was able to rappel down the cliffside securely and bring Ginger back into the care of her owners Nadine de Graf-Busby and Rohan de Graf.

“On behalf of the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade Division St. Eustatius, we would like to thank the owners for entrusting us with such a task. Our primary purpose as professionals is to secure the lives of humans and animals, and today [Sunday – Ed.] we did just that,” said on-scene commander Rene Courtar.
