MP Sjamira Roseburg and footballer Eloy Room.
PHILIPSBURG--Curaçao international goalkeeper and Guinness World Record holder Eloy Room is encouraging young footballers in St. Maarten and Saint-Martin to work hard, enjoy the game and remain committed to their dreams.
The message was shared following a recent meeting between Room and Member of Parliament (MP) Sjamira Roseburg in Curaçao on the occasion of his Guinness World Records recognition.
During the encounter, Roseburg said she asked Room to share words of encouragement for young people and aspiring footballers from the two sides of the island.
His message was simple: never give up on your dreams, work hard and always enjoy the game.
Room’s message highlights the importance of dedication, discipline and perseverance for young athletes seeking to develop their talents and pursue opportunities beyond their communities.
Roseburg said the encounter also prompted hopes that Room will one day visit St. Maarten to meet young footballers, share his experiences and encourage them to believe in their potential both on and off the pitch.
The message to aspiring players is to keep learning, remain committed and continue working towards their goals.
