AIRPORT--The Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) operating company PJIAE Quality Assurance Department conducted a safety and security workshop at the airport terminal building on Tuesday. This training is mandatory for airport employees and stakeholders and is held every two years.

According to PJIAE Quality Assurance Department manager Connally Connor, airport staff cannot undertake work tasks on the tarmac without having attended the workshop.

“Training and developing employees’ skills and work habits is the strategic focus of our Safety Management System (SMS). This is possible because every person in the organisation, from the chief executive officer (CEO) down, believes that increased knowledge and skill makes staff and stakeholders more productive, attentive, and safe in their workplace, and thus less susceptible to accidents,” said Connor.
