PHILIPSBURG:--- On Tuesday, September 6th two brothers who are twins, both with initials E.D. (30) of the Albanian Nationality were arrested at the Princess Juliana International Airport in the possession of false Canadian passports. Both suspects were taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where they remain in custody for further investigation.
Armed robberies
The Special Robbery Unit is presently investigating one attempted robbery and two armed robberies which took place over the weekend.
On Friday, September 9th at approximately 10.25 p.m., two men armed with firearms attempted to rob the Star Mart on Bush road but failed in their attempt and fled the scene. On that same evening at approximately 11.20 p.m. two unknown men armed with guns stormed into Star Mart in Cole Bay and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot after committing this act.
On Sunday, September 11th at approximately 10.00 p.m., two unknown men dressed in dark clothing, armed with guns stormed into Burger King on the Union road In Cole Bay and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash. After committing this act both men fled the scene of foot. No one was injured during any of these robberies.
