WILLEMSTAD:--- On Sunday evening at 20:30, 28 of October the Rescue & Coordination Center of the Coast Guard spotted a contact approximately 12 nautical miles south of Daaibooi beach. The contact was in route to Curacao. The substation at Parera immediately launched the Metal Shark I-04 to go and intercept the contact. The Metal Shark received support from the Dash airplane of the Coast Guard. At 21:55 the I-04 intercepted the boat at 6.3 nautical miles south of Cape St. Marie. The Coastguard encountered 3 persons on board and a considerable amount of presumably drugs. The 3 persons were arrested and were taken to the substation at Parera together with the drugs and the boat. De suspects and the drugs were handed over to the police who will further investigate the case.
