~ Students that are not satisfied with results can submit query~
PHILIPSBURG:— Minister of EYS Rodolphe Samuel said on Wednesday that due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the CXC examinations for CCSLC, CSEC, and CAPE were held in July and August 2020 instead of May and June. Despite the many challenges experienced due to COVID 19 and the closure of schools, the examination results of the St. Maarten students were good. The pass rate remained at 100%.
CCSLC Caribbean Secondary School Leaving Certificate
At the Mac Comprehensive Secondary School, 47 students took part in these exams. Charlotte Brookson Academy had 13 students; Milton Peters College had 22 students. St Maarten PSVE had 13 students that participated in the CCSLC exams. In total 95 students sat the CCSLC Exams in 2020.
CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate)
At the St Maarten Academy, 99 students sat these examinations at Dominic High School had 58 students and the MAC Comprehensive Secondary School had 30 students and the Charlotte Brookson Academy had 25 students that sat the CSEC Examinations.
CAPE (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Exam)
Only the St Maarten Academy offers the CAPE Examination and 39 students sat this examination.
The schools offering the CXC Examinations on St. Maarten are satisfied with the overall results obtained by the students. In cases where the school or the student are not satisfied with the grade, they still have the opportunity to submit a query and or a subject review to CXC on behalf of their individual students. The schools are in the process of compiling the lists with the individual subject queries or reviews and will be submitted through the office of the Local Registrar to CXC.
These results were accomplished due to the hard work, commitment, and dedication of the school managers, coordinators, teacher’s students’ and parents.
