PHILIPSBURG:--- The Interact Club of St. Dominic High School which is sponsored by the Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle had their change of board in time for ‘World Interact Week’.
The outgoing board, President Neha Gidwani, Immediate Past President Ajay Dayalani, Vice President LeeAnn Wyatt, Secretary Chanchal Sharma, Treasurer Jharna Chhutani, Sergeant at Arms Chantae Marae Davis, Shivali Mahtani and Sarbani Bag, Service committee Rahul Sharma and Atul Pereppadan, Finance committee Shivani Ahuja, Club committee Orpah Lawrie and Jai Dayalani and International Committee Muskaan Dayalani, were praised for the great work they had done within the community and the things they had accomplished during 2015-2016. Some of their projects were, among others, Christmas baskets for Senior Citizens and gift wrapping fundraising, both activities during the Christmas Season.
Leeann Wyatt gave the invocation while outgoing President Neha gave the 4-Way test. The St. Maarten Song was sung by Rotarian Elisia of The Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle. Two piano performances were given by Atul Pereppadam. Speeches were given by outgoing President Neha Gidwani, Incoming President Chanchal Sharma and Rotarian Advisor Rotarian Jon of Rotary Mid Isle. Some new members were inducted by Interact Mentor Mrs. Patrice Davis. Rotarian Advisor Jon introduced the new board, who are President Chanchal Sharma, Immediate Past President Neha Gidwani, Vice President Chantae Marae Davis, Secretary Naisha Lalwani, Treasurer Sergio Dharamraj, Sergeant at Arms Sidharth Kotai, International committee Shivali Mahtani, Rohan Goswami and Siddharth Jethwani, Service committee Camila van Grieken and Neha Gidwani, Finance committee Sarbani Bag, Mahima Panjwani and Club Service Charu Jagger and Chantoni Da Cunha.
During world Interact week Chanchal Sharma, Chantae Marae Davis, Naisha Lalwani and Sergio Dharamraj had the privilege to meet Rotary International President Elect Ian Riseley and District 7020 Governor Elect Robert Leger during their visit at the Rotary Club of St. Maarten-Mid Isle on November 1st. They also enjoyed a question and answer time with them.
