CAY HILL:--- The SMMC recently held PALS (Pediatric Advance Life Support) and PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) courses for staff. Ms. Marina Bayer, coordinator and resuscitator of PALS, PEARS and BLS, returned to the SMMC to coordinate courses for critical care medical staff. For the first time, she was assisted by Ms. Nadia Rampersad, a Respiratory Therapist and Resuscitation Instructor.
The PALS course was held on 28th and 29th of May and with an attendance of 12 persons; Emergency (5), Intensive Care (5), and the OR (2). The PEARS course was held on the 30th and 31st of May with an attendance of 12 persons OB/GYN ward (4), Pediatric Ward (8).
The course was another success. All participants successfully completed both courses.
