Five Prison Guards under investigation
POINTE BLANCHE: A number of prisons guards were hit by a surprise on Wednesday morning when they reported to work and found that they were locked out by management. SMN News learned that there is an ongoing investigation taking place at the Pointe Blanche house of detention regarding prison guards who are suspected of taking illicit drugs into the house of detention. SMN News will be updating this news item later today.
Minister of Justice Edison Kirindongo in an invited comment said that five prison guards are under investigation. The Minister Kirindongo said the investigation is conducted by the Landsrecherche. He said at this point of time he cannot divulge much information into the ongoing investigation, but hopes that he will be able to do so in the very near future.
