SXM DOET is an initiative initiated by the Oranje Fonds in the Netherlands with NLdoet, which started in the Netherlands over 10 years ago and later expanded to Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire, Statia, and St. Maarten. The initiative involves all interested NGOs that want to execute projects that they would like to get done but haven’t had the resources, time and/or hands to do so. Interested NGOs should register the project(s) they would like executed through the help of volunteers on www.SXMDOET.com by the deadline this Monday, January 23, 2017. Funding can be requested from Oranje Fonds via the SXMDOET.com online form.

Projects must require at least 5 volunteers and must feasibly be completed within one or two days. The types of projects can vary and a person with any skill or will could volunteer, be it by providing hairdressing and makeup makeovers to the elderly, or construction and painting skills for an educational or sports facility, taking foster kids out on an entertaining excursion, or participating in a neighborhood beach cleanup.

Registration for volunteers is open from now until March for individuals, companies, schools, and other organizations.
