WILLEMSTAD/PHILIPSBURG:--- The Ministers of Finance of St. Maarten Richard Gibson Sr and the Minister of Finance of Curacao decided in a meeting on Thursday to send an ordinance to the governors of both countries to suspend the President of the Central Bank Emsley Tromp.
Minister Gibson confirmed to SMN News on Thursday that the decision have been taken by the two Ministers of Finance during their meeting on Thursday and now they have to see the process through by sending the ordinance to the governors of both countries.
The decision was taken because Tromp is officially under investigation for tax fraud. His home and a trust company in Curacao were raided last week Wednesday. Shortly after the search, Tromp decided to go on vacation to deal with allegations and investigations that are currently ongoing.
