PHILIPSBURG:--- St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry (COCI) Executive Director Anastacio Baker, would like to inform COCI members that the Simpson Bay Public Service Center at the Fish Market will also be used as a polling station for the election for the board of directors on Friday, December 7.
COCI members have two options, besides the main office in Philipsburg, members in the Cole Bay, Cay Bay, Simpson Bay, Beacon Hill/Maho/Cupecoy can go to the Simpson Bay Public Service Center instead of driving all the way to Philipsburg.
Those elected to the board to represent the Small Business sector will be elected for a three-year term.
Five (5) candidates were postulated for one (1) seat, the names are: Anna Elaine Richardson, Benjamin Ortega, Cleon Giovanni Frederick, Ifelola Badejo & Jennifer Christina Carty.
COCI voters can request and pick up their voting cards at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry office from Tuesday, December 4th, 2018.
COCI members can visit the Simpson Bay Public Service Center on Friday to cast their vote during office hours of the aforementioned center.
COCI also announces that the business community can also visit the Simpson Bay Public Service Center to request excerpts. This service is available as of December 3, 2018.
The service was discontinued after the passing of Hurricane Irma in September 2017, but COCI is pleased to announce that this service and others are now available once again for the business community who need to conduct COCI business activities.
“The objective is to facilitate services and make it easier for COCI members to do business. We fully understand the challenges of traffic congestion and parking when trying to get to Philipsburg and once you are in town.
“The Simpson Bay Public Service Center is a central location over the hill that makes it much easier for our members on that side of the hill to do their business activities with the Chamber. We look forward to continuing to introduce new services and products that makes it much easier to do business in the country,” Baker said on Tuesday.
