Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina highlighted the significance of the day with a call to recognize the positive roles men play across society.

“International Men’s Day is about celebrating the men who show up with character, compassion, and commitment,” Prime Minister Mercelina said. “We honour their contributions and acknowledge the real challenges many men face. Every man deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling life.”

This year’s observance carries special energy across the Caribbean as Curaçao’s national soccer team has made history by qualifying for the FIFA World Cup. The Government and people of Sint Maarten extend heartfelt congratulations to Curaçao for this achievement.

“Curaçao’s success reminds us of what can be accomplished through focus, discipline, and belief,” the Prime Minister added. “Their victory is a source of pride for the entire region and an inspiring example for men and boys everywhere.”

The Government of Sint Maarten encourages ongoing conversations around men’s health, positive role models, and building supportive communities where men and women thrive together.
