Upon their arrival, the police discovered the lifeless body of a woman floating in the sea. Aware of the gravity of the situation, the coastguards were immediately called in for reinforcement. During the operation, they recovered several personal effects floating near the body which could have been taken out of the water.

Another macabre discovery

Later in the morning, around 10:30 am, another call was received by the police station indicating the presence of a male body, lying on the sand in Guana Bay.

Faced with these two macabre discoveries and the need to respect the privacy and dignity of the victims and their families, the Korps Politie Sint Maarten did not provide further information.

The KPSM Major Crimes Team is asking anyone who has witnessed suspicious activity in Guana Bay, or has relevant information related to the events, to come forward and assist in this investigation. Please contact the Major Crimes Department at +1 721 542 2222, ext. 208, 223 or 214 or call the anonymous line 9300. _AF
