The investigation concerns the fatal shooting of D.S., originally from Trinidad and Tobago, and D.D. of the United States, on March 2, 2026, in Sint Maarten.

Investigators believe Sylvester was the intended target of the shooting. D.D. is not believed to have been a target and appears to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

One suspect is currently in pre-trial detention on suspicion of complicity in the two murders. However, the suspected shooter has not yet been apprehended.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Brent Dain Danglade, born March 25, 1977, in Trinidad and Tobago. He has since changed his name to John Dawn Emmanuel, with the same date of birth.

The investigation indicates that Danglade/Emmanuel regularly changes his appearance. The accompanying photographs show how he may currently look, his appearance around the time of the murders, and how he was depicted in previous wanted notices.

He also has an elongated tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. The precise image or meaning of the tattoo is not yet known.
