A tribute will be paid to Robert Luckock, a familiar figure in the Saint-Martin press and journalist from Daily heraldthis Sunday, August 30th in Simpson Bay.

The community is invited to join this celebration of his life and to come and share the memories left by the one whom many describe as a a humble, gentle, and deeply kind man.

The meeting is set for 16 p.m. at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club Restaurant (90 Welfare RoadOn this occasion, cyclists and runners will carry Robert's ashes during a short journey by bike and on foot. In 17 hrsThey will all meet at the Yacht Club to to reminisce together about shared memories and moments with this much-loved man.

Robert Luckock, who died on August 2, 2026 at the age of 74, had devoted many years to covering the news of Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin, leaving behind thousands of articles and photographs, but above all the memory of an endearing personality.

This Sunday's vigil gathering is intended to open to all those who wish to pay him a final tribute and celebrate the life of “Bob”, whose presence and smile are sorely missed. It is said thatA person dies a second time when no one talks about them anymore. Remembering Robert allows him to continue living through us. -Vx
