Since September 1st, the blue zone is back in effect in downtown Marigot. Implemented to encourage vehicle turnover and facilitate access to shops, the system now requires the use of a parking disc on several commercial streets.
Parking remains free, but limited to 1 hour and 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The parking disc must be clearly displayed on the dashboard. Outside these hours, as well as on Sundays and public holidays, parking is free and the disc is not required. The zone includes Rue de la République, Boulevard Hubert Petit opposite the West Indies Mall, Boulevard de France (shopping side), Rue du Général de Gaulle, and Rue du Président Kennedy. Designated parking spaces are marked on the ground and signage is provided. The parking disc is free and can be obtained at the Collectivité building, the Marigot Territorial Police station, Cadisco service stations, and the Blue Point station. Be careful not to forget: failure to display a disc or exceeding the 1 hour and 30 minute limit may result in a €17 fine, as well as the possible impoundment of your vehicle.
As a reminder, the blue zone was tested in Marigot in 2015 before being suspended in 2018, following the redevelopment work in the city centre.
