Sun, music and lots of energy: the atmosphere was sporty on Sunday morning, September 27th, on Galion beach, where nearly a hundred participants took part in the first edition of the “Sporty Challenge Saint-Martin”, organized by the Centre of excellence and education through sport (CEES).

Although the event started at 7am, many participants joined the Galion after taking part in the “Back to School Fun Run”, sporting event of the Avenir Sportif Club of St MartinAt 9 a.m., about ten seasoned athletes set off on the only timed course, the “Challenge”, after having already run up to 5km. As for the prizes, the top four finishers (men and women) in this competition will soon enjoy a day trip to Saint-Barth, including a meal and activity for the winners, brunch at La Samanna for the runners-up, smartwatches for the third-place finishers, and Go Sport gift vouchers for the fourth-place finishers. All participants will also receive a gift voucher for the Mood SXM restaurant.

The other courses allowed everyone to challenge themselves according to their level: “Evolution,” inspired by obstacle courses, for 12-18 year olds; “Excellence” for adults of all levels; and “Spirit,” a parent-child duo event with balance and coordination challenges. This two-person course appealed to Céline, who came to cheer on her husband on the “Challenge” course before also taking on the “Spirit” course herself with her 4-year-old son. “I think it’s going to take more effort from me than from my son,” she joked. A first edition that was a great success. under the banner of sport, but above all, conviviality.
