St. Maarten News – Youth prosecutor Karola van Nie will not extend her term at the prosecutor’s office in St. Maarten. Her term ends on August 1 and she will return to the Netherlands.

On Wednesday, prosecutor Gonda van der Wulp flew back to the Netherlands. She will be replaced by prosecutor Danny Hazeleger, currently working at the functional prosecutor’s office in Amsterdam.

With the upcoming departure of prosecutor Van Nie, the prosecutor’s office has lost four female prosecutors. Earlier Dounia Benammar (to the office of the attorney General in Curacao) and Tineke Kamps (back to the Netherlands) and Gonda van der Wulp left St. Maarten. The lone female prosecutor left after the summer is Nanouk Lemmers.
