Team St. Maarten Aquatics will be the country’s only delegation competing at this year’s Games, placing the swimmers in the position of representing St. Maarten on one of the region’s largest multi-sport stages.

The swimming competition is scheduled for July 28 to August 1 in Santo Domingo.

The aquatics events will be held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Aquatic Center, located within the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in the National District. The facility will host swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo during the Games.

The St. Maarten Sports Federation said the selection of the delegation reflects the athletes’ commitment, discipline and perseverance as they prepare to compete against leading swimmers from throughout the region.

“As the only Team St. Maarten delegation competing at this year’s Games, our swimmers carry not only the hopes of their teammates, but the pride of an entire nation as they prepare to compete against the region’s best,” the federation stated.

The swimmers have reached this stage following extensive preparation and training, and will now have the opportunity to represent St. Maarten among delegations from more than 30 participating countries and territories.

The federation said it will introduce the individual members of Team St. Maarten Aquatics over the coming days as part of its Road to Santo Domingo campaign.

The campaign will highlight the swimmers, their preparation and the journey that earned them the opportunity to wear the St. Maarten flag at the Games.

The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games will officially open on July 24 at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo. Competitions will be staged at venues across the Dominican Republic, with the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center serving as the main site for 22 sports.
