SOUTH REWARD--St. Dominic High School honored its International Baccalaureate (IB) Class of 2026 during the school’s annual IB Pinning Ceremony, held under the theme, “Every Piece Counts: Celebrating our Differences.”
The ceremony recognized students who completed the two-year IB Diploma Programme and their final examinations. The event brought together the IB Class of 2026, their families and friends, representatives of Foundation Catholic Education, IB teachers and staff, and prospective IB students.
During the ceremony, students were recognized for their achievements and contributions through the awarding of honor cords in several categories connected to the IB experience.
The Teal Honor Cord was awarded for the timely completion of all IB Core requirements. The Yellow Honor Cord recognized students who earned more than 30 points on their mock examinations. Adio Williams recorded the highest mock examination score with 36 points.
The Green Honor Cord recognized students who demonstrated the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. The Black Honor Cord honored leadership within the school community, while the Purple Honor Cord recognized students who mentored and supported their peers during the IB journey.
Dishita Babani and Enhua Wu earned all five honor cords presented during the ceremony. Their recognition reflected achievement across academics, leadership, service, mentorship, and the core values of the IB Diploma Programme.
Several students also received special awards for their involvement in school activities, service initiatives, leadership efforts, academic performance, and their overall commitment to the values of the International Baccalaureate Programme.
The program included performances by members of the IB Year 1 cohort. Addresses were delivered by Ms. Marie Richardson, School Liaison, and Mrs. Gisella Reijna-Hilliman, IB Coordinator. A parent address was also delivered by Mrs. Reena Vaswani and Mr. Ronny Vaswani, who spoke from the perspective of having supported two children through the IB Diploma Programme in different graduating years.
St. Dominic High School also acknowledged Ms. Sandra Givans, Homeroom Teacher, for conceptualizing and coordinating the ceremony. The school further recognized the contributions of IB Year 1 and Year 2 students who assisted with planning, invitations, programs, slideshows, and volunteer support during the event.
As the IB Class of 2026 prepares for the next stage of their academic and professional journeys, St. Dominic High School congratulates the students on completing this milestone.
