GREAT BAY--Foundation Catholic Education St. Maarten (SKOS) is celebrating Berthille Chittick, affectionately known as Teacher Betty, as she marks 40 years of dedicated service to Catholic education and begins a well-deserved retirement.
Teacher Betty began her journey with SKOS on August 1, 1986, and has spent four decades serving students, families and schools with dedication, patience, kindness and care.
Throughout her career, she has contributed to the development of hundreds of students and helped shape generations of young minds. SKOS said her passion for education and unwavering commitment to children have left a lasting impact across the Catholic school community.
Over the years, Teacher Betty served at Sister Imelda Kindergarten, Sister Borgia Elementary School and the SKOS Early Childhood Stimulation Program. She later continued her service as a Cycle 1 SKOS Coach, supporting education and development within the foundation.
“For four decades, Teacher Betty has been a shining example of dedication, commitment and passion for Catholic education,” SKOS stated. “Through her patience, kindness and unwavering care, she has touched the lives of hundreds of students, helping to shape generations of young minds and inspiring them to reach their full potential.”
The foundation extended heartfelt gratitude to Teacher Betty for her many contributions to Catholic primary education and for the love and care shown to children throughout her career.
SKOS said her legacy will continue through the many students, colleagues and families whose lives she has enriched during her years of service.
As Teacher Betty enters retirement, the foundation wished her good health, happiness, peace, joy and relaxation in the years ahead.
“We pray that God continues to bless Teacher Betty abundantly, rewarding her years of faithful service with good health, happiness, peace and the joy that comes from knowing she has made a lasting difference in so many lives,” SKOS stated.
The foundation thanked Teacher Betty for 40 remarkable years of service and said she will always remain part of the Foundation Catholic Education St. Maarten family.
