PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Police Force KPSM has arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the St. Peters area on November 24, 2025.

According to police, the incident took place shortly after 8:00pm, when multiple individuals reportedly exchanged gunfire. No injuries or fatalities were reported at the time. Detectives launched an investigation immediately following the incident to identify those involved.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, KPSM officers arrested two suspects, identified by their initials J.I.A. and J.J.A. Both were taken to the Philipsburg Police Station, where they remain in custody for questioning.

Police stated that the investigation is ongoing as detectives work to establish the motive behind the shooting and clarify the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests.

KPSM reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and is urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and contact the police.
