According to police, detectives spotted a vehicle on Friday, October 24 in Middle Region matching the description of the getaway car used in the robbery. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects tried to flee, leading to a brief chase that ended in the Saint Barts Drive area.

Officers intercepted the vehicle and arrested both suspects. A firearm, believed to have been used in the robbery, was also confiscated.

The robbery occurred on Tuesday around 7:00pm on Front Street, when an armed suspect exited a gray vehicle and forcibly snatched a gold chain from a man standing outside the Horizon View Beach Hotel. A video of the incident circulating on social media shows a security guard walking away during the attack, which has sparked public concern.

Detectives from the Special Unit Robberies (SUR) are continuing their investigation to determine whether others were involved.

KPSM commended the swift action of its officers and warned that “those who commit crimes will eventually be caught.” The force urged residents to remain vigilant and assist police efforts by reporting suspicious activity.
