SYNOPSIS:
Lingering moisture and instability associated with the departed tropical wave will result in generally cloudy skies with isolated showers during this forecast period.
Seas are peaking near 6 feet and expected to gradually subside. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.\r\n

SPECIAL FEATURE: A tropical wave located west of the Lesser Antilles still has a medium (50%) chance of formation in 2 days and a high (80%) chance in 5 days. This system poses no threat to the island.\r\n
At 5:00 am today Hurricane Gaston had maximum sustained winds near 75 mph. The current forecast track will take Gaston well north of the Lesser Antilles, therefore posing no threat to St. Maarten.\r\n
The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of these systems.\r\n
