WEATHER:     

This afternoon through tonight: Generally cloudy and breezy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. 

Wednesday morning through midday: Partly cloudy and breezy, becoming cloudy at times with isolated showers. 

Forecast High: 31°C / 88°F             Forecast Low: 26°C / 79°F

SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Wednesday midday: Easterly to southeasterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 20 mph and higher gusts. 

  

SYNOPSIS:    

With Potential Tropical Cyclone Six in the region: cloudy skies, gusty winds, scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms are expected today. This could lead to heavy showers, localized flooding, and rock falls. Motorists and persons utilizing low-lying areas should be vigilant, as street-flooding is likely. 

Seas are expected to peak at 9 feet through the next couple days. As a result, a small craft advisory is now in effect. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Rough                  WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 9 feet  

   

SPECIAL FEATURES: 
1. At 11am, Potential Tropical Cyclone Six remains disorganized as it travels west-northwest with a forward speed of 18mph. Some further strengthening is expected, and the system is likely to become a Tropical Storm today or tonight.   

Residents of St. Maarten are encouraged to monitor updates from the Meteorological Department closely. 

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor Potential Tropical Cyclone Six and update the public accordingly. 

OUTLOOK through Thursday midday: Partly cloudy and breezy with brief showers possible.
