SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Thursday midday: East to east-southeast with a gentle to fresh breeze of 10 to 19 mph, and possibly higher gusts. 

  

SYNOPSIS:    

A slight moisture surge could produce patches of low-level clouds and some brief passing showers during this forecast period. The strengthened Atlantic high-pressure system will account for brisk easterly winds. Meanwhile the lingering Saharan dust maintains slightly hazy conditions across the local region.  

Seas are expected to peak at 7 feet through Thursday. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to moderate          
WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 7 feet  

   

SPECIAL FEATURES:  The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the situation with La Soufriere volcano and update the public accordingly.
