The Prime Minister extended congratulations to Emerle Tisson of Saint Lucia for capturing the title of St. Maarten Carnival Caribbean Queen, and to Kentonea Fortin of St Eustatius for earning First Runner-Up, recognising their performances in what was described as a strong display of Caribbean excellence.

Prime Minister Mercelina highlighted Quant’s accomplishment as a proud moment for the country, noting that her performance reflected the qualities of grace, intelligence, and cultural pride. “Her performance on the regional stage is a testament to the calibre of talent that exists within our nation and serves as an inspiration to many young people,” the Prime Minister stated.

As St. Maarten continues to celebrate Carnival 2026 and the 55th anniversary of the festival, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of pageantry as part of the island’s cultural traditions.

“Pageantry remains a meaningful platform for personal development, cultural expression, and representation. It is important that we continue to recognise and celebrate these accomplishments, as they contribute to a deeper sense of pride, identity, and unity within our community.”

He also encouraged the public to celebrate all contestants, noting that their achievements highlight the vibrancy and cultural excellence of Carnival in St. Maarten.
