PHILIPSBURG--Parliament held two fewer public meetings and 23 fewer committee meetings in the 2025-2026 parliamentary year compared with 2024-2025, a combined decline of 25 meetings, according to Parliament’s 2025-2026 Annual Report published on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
Public meetings fell from 23 in 2024-2025 to 21 in 2025-2026, while committee meetings dropped from 65 to 42. Overall, Parliament recorded 93 meetings across five meeting categories in 2025-2026, down from 124 the previous year.
The 93 meetings consisted of 21 public meetings, 23 Central Committee meetings, 42 committee meetings, five Presidium meetings and two faction leaders meetings.
The report separately records 25 meeting records under “Parliament Meetings of the Year,” consisting of two solemn public meetings and 23 public meetings.
For the Central Committee, the report records 23 meeting records and identifies one Central Committee for the 2025-2026 parliamentary year.
For permanent, ad hoc and related committees, the report records 57 meeting records involving 19 committee bodies.
The report’s meeting activity comparison shows that public meetings numbered 22 in 2023-2024, 23 in 2024-2025 and 21 in 2025-2026.
Central Committee meetings numbered 22 in 2023-2024, 25 in 2024-2025 and 23 in 2025-2026.
Committee meetings numbered 55 in 2023-2024, 65 in 2024-2025 and 42 in 2025-2026.
Presidium meetings numbered nine in 2023-2024, eight in 2024-2025 and five in 2025-2026.
Faction leaders meetings numbered four in 2023-2024, three in 2024-2025 and two in 2025-2026.
Compared with 2024-2025, Central Committee meetings decreased by two, from 25 to 23. Presidium meetings decreased by three, from eight to five, while faction leaders meetings decreased by one, from three to two.
For 2025-2026, the report therefore records 21 public meetings, 23 Central Committee meetings, 42 committee meetings, five Presidium meetings and two faction leaders meetings, for a total of 93 meetings across the five categories.
The report’s three-year figures show that total meeting activity was 112 meetings in 2023-2024, 124 in 2024-2025 and 93 in 2025-2026.
This represents a decrease of 12 meetings from 2023-2024 to 2025-2026 and a decrease of 31 meetings from 2024-2025 to 2025-2026.
