Netball Tournament to launch in Statia starting today | THE DAILY HERALD

ST. EUSTATIUS – starting today, Tuesday October 21st to Thursday October 23rd, 2025, a netball tournament will be gearing up to take place in Statia. The games will take place at the Earl Merkman Sports Auditorium. The tournament will be hosted by St. Eustatius and St. Maarten, in collaboration with World Netball & Americas Netball. Teams started arriving on the island from Canada, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Guadeloupe, St. Maarten. Some teams arrived on Monday, while others are expected to arrive on the island on Tuesday. The games will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, after which the teams will head over to St. Maarten to continue the tournament.

The games are expected to be three action-packed days featuring top-tier teams from around the world, fierce competition, and the unbreakable spirit of Netball.

This year marks a milestone as Statia is partially hosting this prestigious event for the first time. The public is being invited to come out to take in some incredible matches, networking opportunities, and a chance to witness world-class athletes in action. Tuesday evening will feature a welcome reception at the waterfront starting at 6:00pm and the first game to kick off the event will feature Statia against Canada starting at 9:00pm.
