ANGUILLA--Miss Anguilla 2026, Akeema Carty, received a grand welcome home on Sunday August 23 following gaining the crown at the Miss Caribbean Beauty & Intelligence Pageant in Guyana. She was greeted by family, friends, officials, members of the Miss Anguilla community, and scores of supporters at the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal to celebrate her outstanding achievement and triumphant return to Anguilla.
During the reception, Amber Woodley, CEO of the Anguilla Festivals Development Commission and Chairperson of the Miss Anguilla Committee, delivered remarks congratulating Akéma on her remarkable accomplishment and recognising the pride she has brought to Anguilla through her representation on the regional stage. Additional remarks were delivered by Romare Kelsick, Chairperson of the Anguilla Festivals Development Commission, who expressed his immense pride in Akéma’s achievement, highlighting the significance of her success and the positive representation she continues to provide for Anguilla.
Cordell Richardson, Parliamentary Secretary Infrastructure, Housing & natural Resources, also offered congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Government and people of Anguilla. He commended Akéma for her dedication, confidence, and outstanding representation, emphasizing that the entire island shares in the pride of her accomplishment. He further expressed his best wishes for her continued success throughout her reign and in future pageants and endeavours. Congratulations were also extended to Akema’s chaperones for their hard work, dedication, guidance and unwavering support.
