Pokhriyal’s achievement follows a strong academic record throughout his time with MAC. He attended the Rev. John A.Gumbs. Campus, where he graduated as the Grade 6 valedictorian.

In December 2023, he was named the Top Male Performer for the Region in the CXC CCSLC examinations. His CSEC results now see him earning Grade I in each of the 17 subjects he took.

Reflecting on the examination process, Pokhriyal said managing 17 School-Based Assessments presented a challenge as deadlines approached, but staying ahead helped him complete the work.

“CSEC was a journey… Managing seventeen SBAs proved to be a bit of a challenge as deadlines approached; however, staying ahead of the curve allowed me to cross the finish line.”

His parents also credited the support provided throughout his studies, including emotional and mental support, while expressing particular appreciation for his teachers.

The school said the results reflect the combined efforts of students, teachers, parents and administrators.

MAC CSE described Pokhriyal’s achievement as reflecting its philosophy of supporting students throughout their education, summarized by the school as “from the cradle to the grave.”

MAC CSE entered 22 subjects in this year’s examinations, with 13 subjects recording a 100% pass rate at Grades I–III. These were Biology, Chemistry, English A, English B, French, Information Technology, Music, Office Administration, Physical Education & Sport, Social Studies, Theatre Arts, Principles of Business and Principles of Accounts.

Other subjects also recorded strong results. Human and Social Biology had a 94% pass rate, Integrated Science 83%, Spanish 81%, Religious Education 80% and Geography 75%.

The school also recognized students who successfully completed eight or more subjects, including English A and Mathematics. MAC CSE said this achievement reflects the discipline, academic strength and ability required to manage a demanding academic workload while performing in the two core CSEC subjects.
