The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) is aware of the large fire currently burning at the Corito Landfill and acknowledges the concerns of members of the public regarding the incident.

Emergency personnel, along with members of the public who are actively assisting with the response, are working to bring the situation under control.

The RAPF is urging anyone who is not directly involved in the response or actively assisting to stay away from the Corito Landfill. A number of persons have been travelling to the area simply to observe the incident, creating unnecessary congestion and making it more difficult for emergency responders and security personnel to carry out their duties safely and effectively.

Keeping the area clear will allow emergency services to respond efficiently while ensuring the safety of responders, volunteers, and the wider public.

The RAPF thanks those who are assisting with the response and appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the public. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
