Carnival on the French side came to an end Wednesday evening. The Carnival Committee thanked the public for their support throughout the season and treated the revellers with a Wet Fête party with popular local entertainers. Story on page .

MARIGOT--Thousands showed up at the Paradise Village in Galisbay to bid farewell to the annual Carnival season on Wednesday evening. Patrons enjoyed a full night of entertainment by international and local performers before the burning of Momo took place at midnight.

  The winners were also announced by the Carnival Committee. For the Children’s Parade, Claire Stmaxumin won the overall prize with 420 points while MJC de Sandy Ground came in second with 389 points. Herve Williams came in third with 318 points. Best Choreography for the Children’s Parade went to Claire Stmaxumin, Best Float to MJC de Sandy Ground, Best Road Piece to MJC de Sandy Ground and Best Individual Piece to Claire Stmaxumin.

  In the Adult Grand Parade, the overall winner was Hot N Spicy troupe, second place went to Happy Crew and third place was awarded to Nu Style. Best Choreography, Best Float and Best Individual Piece also went to Hot N Spicy.

  Performers of the night included King Verse, Asa Banton, DJ JP, MC Sponge and Red Eye Crew.

  The Committee thanked the public for their support for the seven nights of Carnival and wished for continued support for the new incoming Carnival Committee board.
