Detectives from KPSM, supported by the Forensic Department, immediately cordoned off the area and commenced their investigation.

PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Police Force KPSM is investigating a fatal shooting in the Fort Willem area on Thursday evening, shortly before 7:00pm.

Responding officers found a young male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt emergency assistance, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Detectives from KPSM, supported by the Forensic Department, immediately cordoned off the area and commenced a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The probe remains ongoing, and police have not yet released additional details, including the identity of the victim or possible motives. KPSM stated that further information will be provided as it becomes available.
