Kidz at Sea Foundation’s sponsor, Essilor Vision Foundation USA, recently provided free eye exams on St. Maarten as it has done for three consecutive years. Essilor came with doctors and all equipment for vision testing. The foundations worked with schools under SVOBE and management to ensure that as many children as possible were tested during the three-and-a-half-day visit. A total of 768 individuals were tested on St. Maarten and 238 on Anguilla. The White and Yellow Cross Foundation, Sister Basilia Center on St. Maarten and Blossom Centre in Anguilla also participated in the exercise. Nearly all students examined required some sort of corrective eye wear. Those tested ranged from age 3 to 80. Kidz at Sea thanked all participants and supporters. “By working together our collective vision is always much brighter.” said Kidz at Sea President Lorraine Talmi.
