MARIGOT--In March 2025, the Collectivité launched the Territorial Plan for Economic Development, Innovation and Internationalisation (STDEII) initiative, led by the Attractiveness, Economy and Employment Delegation under the auspices of First Vice-President Alain Richardson.
The aim of the initiative was to draw up an economic development plan tailored to the territory’s needs, covering the next five years. The seminar held on April 7 and 8, 2026, dedicated to the STDEII enabled contributions to be gathered from the territory’s socio-economic partners, with a view to identifying areas for work and creating a roadmap.
The Collectivité is continuing the process of developing the STDEII based on the need to define a strategic roadmap for the territory’s economic development.
Led by President Louis Mussington and spearheaded by First Vice-President Alain Richardson, this initiative is based on a structured, progressive and collaborative process involving all stakeholders in the territory.
For over a year, an in-depth phase of assessment, analysis and consultation has helped to establish a shared vision of the challenges and identify priority areas for action. In line with this, the seminar held on April 7 and 8, marked a major milestone, consolidating the discussions that had been underway since March 2025.
Organised around a plenary session, round-table discussions and thematic workshops, this seminar enabled the emergence of concrete contributions that can be directly utilised for the next phase of work.
The Collectivité is now embarking on a phase of prioritising and aligning actions, with a view to defining an operational framework tailored to the realities of the territory, notably including the creation of a territorial investment fund from 2026. Each priority will be overseen by a steering committee as part of the monitoring of the roadmap, with governance primarily provided by local economic stakeholders.
Adoption of the STDEII is scheduled for autumn 2026. This strategic document, designed as an evolving roadmap, is intended to provide long-term support for the economic and social development of Saint Martin.
