A symbolic check was presented on behalf of the company by Jaime Cardoze and Kurt Mendes to Judaline Cyntje, manager of the national museum.

During the same gathering a handover of signed match shirts from the national football team also took place. These jerseys were added to the museum collection thanks to the mediation of the team’s main sponsor Corendon and were presented by Managing Director Biray Ogut.

The auction’s full proceeds will go to the restoration fund that has been growing since 2025 through contributions from businesses, private donors and its own fundraising campaigns. In June 2025, Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB) Bank donated Cg. 77,000. In addition, a fundraiser and art auction by the museum held in collaboration with Dutch/Surinamese comic Jörgen Raymann yielded a gross revenue of Cg. 100,000.

The museum has since completed a detailed restoration plan for the monumental main building. If preparations proceed according to schedule, they intend to start the work in the final quarter of 2028.

Meanwhile, the museum is holding discussions with various partners including a major contractor, to also turn the project into a social initiative. The intention is to allow young people to gain practical experience during the restoration under the guidance of experienced professionals and to train them in various disciplines within the construction and restoration sector. Discussions regarding this are still ongoing.

The museum will remain accessible to the public during the restoration. Activities and exhibitions will continue on the museum grounds, including in the botanical sculpture garden, the SNIP Gallery and other outdoor locations. In the first phase, only the monumental main building will be restored.

To accommodate the received signed match shirts, the museum is developing a special exhibition focusing on both the shirts and the story of Curaçao’s national football team. The exhibition will have a festive opening to which the public is invited. The museum also hopes to personally welcome several players from the national squad.

Cyntje expressed her gratitude to Tugboat Beach Curaçao, Corendon and everyone who contributed to the initiative. According to her, every contribution brings the museum closer to the restoration of the monumental building and the preservation of Curaçao’s cultural heritage and history for future generations.
