St. Maarten – Registration for the 2016 Carnival season closes on November 1, 2015. The SCDF opened registration on September 1 for all aspects of Carnival.

With the exception of troupes, once registration is closed, there will be no extending of the deadline for any area of Carnival. The SCDF will then continue with Carnival 2016 much earlier than customary in order to facilitate a number of initiatives over the next few months.

“Early preparation leads to better execution. We have followed this mantra for the past few years and it has been working well for us. Folks simply need to get a form for whatever Carnival activity they wish to engage in, fill it in and return it to us,” the SCDF said, adding that general meeting with Carnival stakeholders will commence after November 1.Registration forms can be collected from the SCDF office at #60E Illidge Road (above WIB branch) or can be requested digitally be emailing: sxmcarnival@hotmail.com
