PHILIPSBURG:—  This Friday, March 19, 2021, is the SXM DOET funding application deadline. “We would like to kindly remind all community organizations who what to execute projects during SXM Doet 2021 to register and fill out the applications by this date,” states Melanie Choisy of SXM DOET. This year, SXM DOET is taking place on May 28 & 29, 2021 (instead of the usual mid-March dates).

Foundations, schools, associations, sports teams, clubs, church, and youth groups are all encouraged to participate in SXM DOET 2021 by either hosting a project themselves or by signing up to volunteer. Organizations and volunteers can register via SXM DOET’s online platform: www.sxmdoet.com.

Once organizations register their project(s), they can also apply for funding up to $650 via the website to cover materials needed to execute their project. An additional $60 can also be requested to cover personal protection materials such as masks and disinfectants. Exact details on funding requirements can be viewed: https://www.sxmdoet.com/en/content/register-project

On Wednesday, March 17th, SXM DOET co-coordinator Laura Bijnsdorp is also hosting a ‘walk-in the afternoon’ for persons (community organizations) that need additional assistance registering their project and filling out the funding application. Laura will be present at the new Samenwerkende Fondsen Office from 3:30 pm – 7 pm. “If you are having trouble registering, this is a good opportunity to register and apply for funding without help in person,” Laura explains.

An RSVP is appreciated and a mask is required for persons coming by on March 17th. The new Samenwerkende Fondsen Office is located at Illidge Road #60, unit 1.1. downstairs (former WIB location next to Landsrecherche).

To register and for more information: www.sxmdoet.com. The SXM Doet team can be also contacted at info.sxmdoet@gmail.com, via the SXM DOET Facebook page or by WhatsApp at +1 721-554-7573.
