PHILIPSBURG:--- On Wednesday, March 8th at approximately 10.15 a.m., police patrols, paramedics, and Detectives were directed to the Sint Maarten Vocational school where a fight among students had taken place and one of the students was seriously wounded. On the scene, the investigating officers learned that a fight had broken out after a heated argument between two students from that school with initials N.O.M (18) and J.D.A. (17). During the fight, the suspect N.O.M. used a broken bottle and stabbed the victim J.D.A. in his stomach causing a very serious wound. After committing this act the suspect fled the scene. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for medical attention. At the hospital, the victim was immediately taken to the operation room where he had to be operated on. The victim was admitted to hospital for observation. The suspect was arrested and put into custody for further investigation.
