PHILIPSBURG:--- On Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th, 2017, the Public Schools will be hosting a soft opening for the students and parents. The management, teachers and staff will be welcoming students and parents where they will be updated on the official start date of school. Assessments will be done to determine the social-emotional well-being and care of the students in order to ascertain their needs. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport would like to request all parents to accompany their child/children to the gathering.
School officially starts on October 2nd, 2017 for the pre exam and exam classes as well as all schools that are able to fully start with all grades, which will be made known to parents in a subsequent notice.

ALL students are to report to their respective school for the gathering. The uniform code will not be strictly enforced for the students to promote a relaxed and safe environment.

All teachers, management and administrative have been reporting to their respective schools since Monday, September 25th, 2017, and are expected to continue reporting for duty. The Ministry ECYS would like to thank the management, teachers, and staff of the various schools, parents and communities for their continued support in an effort to rebuild St. Maarten and our educational system.
